Meet Poppy
A Beautiful Soul Looking for Her Special Someone 🌼
Poppy is a complex soul, but one full of love. She’s loyal, affectionate, and quirky in the best ways once she trusts you. She’s been out of the main kennels for a year now, living in her own sanctuary room complete with a cuddle chair, a garden, a toy box full of her beloved “babies” (soft toys), a Wendy house, her own door and window, and the radio playing her favourite tunes. She is totally house-trained and content in her little world — but what she really needs now is her person.
💛 Poppy’s Perfect Home:
• A calm, adult-only home, ideally with an older woman.
• No children, and no other pets — she really doesn’t get on with other animals.
• A quiet, rural location would be ideal, or somewhere peaceful with minimal foot traffic.
• No regular visitors, or a home where she can be separated safely if visitors do come.
• Someone who is home most of the time – she loves companionship, though she can be left alone if she has her toy box of babies.
• A small, secure garden or balcony is essential – Poppy adores sunbathing.
• Someone patient, willing to visit a few times and build trust with her at her pace.
Poppy is not a social butterfly — she’s not the type of dog who wants to meet everyone — but with her people, she is an absolute gem. Once she trusts you, she is a cuddle bug who loves nothing more than snuggling up with you and her babies. She doesn’t walk with other dogs but is perfectly happy if you cross the street and give them space.
We know her list of needs might seem long, but Poppy isn’t hard work. She’s just misunderstood. In the right home, with someone who “gets” her, she will absolutely flourish.
She’s not looking for a lot — just a safe space, a kind heart, and someone to share her sunshine naps and baby toy cuddles with.
If you think you might be Poppy’s person, we would love to talk with you. 💖
Her Story
Poppy’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was adopted in 2021, and while we were thrilled for her, things didn’t go as hoped. Sadly, her adopter didn’t provide the training or structure she needed, and by 2022, Poppy was no longer wanted. With nowhere else for her to go, she found safety in an amazing boarding kennel where she’s been deeply loved and well cared for ever since — now for three years.
Poppy comes with full rescue back up. Adoption donation and home check apply.
