Erika has had to survive the streets

Introducing Erika…..

Erika is a beautiful young dog, who can be nervous of new people and places but with slow, gentle and confident handling, she quickly blossoms into the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. On writing this she has only been in foster for a week so is doing exceptionally well.

Erika does get worried when she is left by herself so a home with another dog or a family that work from home would be beneficial. However she is crate trained and she likes the crate to be a safe space she can come and go from during the day. She’ll settle in the crate for a couple hours if you have errands to run. As much as she’d love to snuggle up to you up in bed, she’ll also sleep through the night in the crate if desired. Erika walks well on a lead, but can spook at loud noises.

She’s shown no aggression to dogs or people, and lets strangers pat her and dogs sniff her. She doesn’t quite understand toys yet but she’s learning to enjoy them. She’d suit a variety of homes, but preferably with children old enough to understand her need for patience and gentle handling.”

Her Story

Erika was found in a field with her two siblings. The lady who found her asked an elderly lady if they could stay in her yard with her dogs. It was not a safe environment as the dogs were much bigger and some aggressive. So a shelter was made for the pups in a field and the lady went to feed them every day until we could bring them all here.
