Meet Vera: A Brave Soul Ready for a Fresh Start

Meet Vera… ❤

A Message from Vera’s Foster Mum

Vera stole our hearts from the moment she first looked at us! She’s the perfect mix of sweet, cheeky, and oh-so-curious. Vera loves her treats, playing, and most of all, cuddles. If you’re a family looking for a new member to join in with everything you do, Vera would fit right in. She thrives on being involved, and nothing makes her happier than having someone join her for her evening zoomies—she absolutely lights up!

Vera has only been on a couple of walks on the street so far, but she’s already fabulous on the lead. She is a little nervous when out, but this seems to stem from inexperience. The wonderful thing is that she looks to her people for reassurance and stays close, which will be a huge help as she gains confidence and explores more of the world.

She’s met a few other dogs and clearly wants to be friends, but she’s not quite sure how to greet them yet. She can get nervous and panic a little, but with time and plenty of positive social experiences, we’re confident she’ll come on brilliantly. She’s already had a lovely play with a steady Labrador and polite sniffs with two calm smaller dogs, so she’s well on her way!

Vera has met our cats, and while she seems curious and might like to play, she mostly just ignores them. We’ve seen no signs of a chase instinct, which is a big plus.

Her toilet training is coming along really well, and we’re sure she’ll have it nailed in no time. She travels quietly in the car—it’s not her favourite thing yet, but with a bit of reassurance, she lays or sits calmly.

Vera is such an incredible pup. She has the kind of face and personality that just makes you smile whenever she’s around. And her cuddles? They’re something special—she loves burying her face into you for a snuggle, and it’s pure magic.

Whoever adopts Vera will be gaining a truly wonderful companion. 🐾

Vera was sadly found abandoned on the outskirts of town, an area known for being a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. It’s a harsh place with little food and many bigger, stronger dogs competing to survive.

Vera comes with full rescue back up. Adoption donation and home check apply.
